Waterfront Maalaea Announces on FB: Closed for Business 

Many of us got the sad news today via Facebook.com that the Waterfront Maalaea has closed their doors at their new location in the Maalaea Harbor Shops. I am sure it was a hard decision for the Smith Family that has been running the restaurant for over 22 years and we wish them well.

The spot has been a tough one for restaurants, starting off as a Merriman's project when the Shops opened and has been a Dana and Mike Pastula of Cafe O'Lei restaurant, and many other menus have passed through as well.

We certainly will mourn the loss of another great restaurant on Maui.
