Amanda Bynes On January 18 Katie passed away into the night at around 8:09 p.m. I lost a great friend. The world lost a wonderful friend as well. Words and tears can not desrcibe the pain that her death brings me. BUt I find comfort in knowing she led a wonderful life, that she found happiness in doing what she did best and that was make others feel important and laugh along the way. How many people you know can do that everyday of their lives? Not many I tell you. It was her wishes as well as her family to have her creamated and her ashes scattered over the Hudson river. We did this in a private ceromony on January 21 a thursday morning that met us with a fierce winter winds blowing at a near 40 mph. We exchanged stories about Katie. I talked about my first time meeting Katie in the cafeteria in the 6th grade. I reminded them of the story of getting into a gang fight in 8th grade. Some people cried other laughed. SOme people talked about their last memory together with Katie. All memories were beautiful and well-spoken. Afterwards we went to go eat hotdogs, which was, Katie's favorite food. I walked back to the hotel on friday and got ready to go home back to california. I looked up the sky and it was cloudy and windy, yet the city was at ease with my soul knowing that Katies spirit dwells in all of us as long as we remember who she was and everything she did for us. The plane landed in New York at around 2:00 am eastern standard time this morning. Prior to this I recieved the inevitable news that Katie will be taken off of life support MOnday morning. This news is the most dreaded of its kind. As I here this news I begin to prepare as to what Im going to say? How will I react when I see her for the last time.? How will I contain myself ? Its all overwhelming. This is life I guess. But somehow I wish it was a little different. I enter the airport and realize that this place is a lot bigger a lot faster a lot noiser a lot scarier then the cafeteria I first entered my first day in middle school. You see that school was scary but it was all made bearable to some degree courtesy of Katie.
I board the subway train shortly after leaving the airport. I am about one hour away from my hotel and my hotel is located about 9 blocks away from the hospital where Katie is at. As Im riding the subway many memories emerge into my mind one in particular that happened in 8th grade. It was during this time that life had become very chaotic thanks to a group of girls that decided to make me the prime target of their jokes and ridiculing. I arrived in Los ANgeles a few days ago.
And was just starting to get into the feel of things again when out of nowhere I get this phone call @ 7:45 am this morning. I recieved news that A good friend of mine is in a NEw York City hospital. Breathing machine and all in an ICU room. It appears tuesday, earlier this week, she got hit by a truck while she was on a route for her work. She works as a messenger girl. The prognosis is absolutely downright grim and very likely that mechanical artificial care will be terminated within the next few hours. That sucks dude. My throat hurts now, that damn acidly feeling and my eyes are needless to say very watery at this time. I shake too. So please bare with me if the mistakes on this blog are too many to count. Well Okay LAX Airport right now sucks too because its consuming the little time I have left to get to New York and it appears the next flight out of here is to Baltimore and that leaves in about 3 hours. Amanda Bynes I know what you mean! I was thinking about that the other day as well. As many true compliments as I have given her, she has never responded once. But, let someone say something as shallow as-"Amanda, you are so cool!"- and she automatically responds. I have my suspicions that she is very distrustful of adults and only wants to talk to kids and teenagers.
