#MadokaMagica ep11: are you happy? She's gonna do it! She's finally gonna do it! #anime 

There sure was a lot of dialogue in this episode. Clear sign this was going to
be all set up and no action. Actually, that's wrong. Wal-Purd-eh-snatch shows
up and shows why she's such a legendary beast. She comes through literally like
a force of nature with no intention or need to hide and has her destructive way
with the city. Even Homura with all her time stopping and military might just
pushes her around a little bit. As I commented before, it very much reminded me
of those scenes from EVA where the JSDF tries to take on the Angels and it
generally leads to a lot of damage to nature and nothing else.

I guess I skipped Kyuubey and Madoka's valuable conversation at the beginning of
the episode, but it's really Kyuubey just further explaining his race's "good"
intentions and the ever enduring relationship between them and young hopeful
girls throughout time. In doing so it appears he takes credit for Joan of Arc
and Cleopatra among others. It's a common storytelling technique, so I'm not
terribly impressed or surprised. It doesn't have the shock value it would have
if I was a newer anime fan.

I did find it interesting that in his race individuals who display emotion are
considered to have some sort of mental disorder. It adds further clarity (along
with the "Cattle" analogy) to how humans and their magical girls are truly
viewed.

Now then, Madoka's finally gonna become a magical girl. Everyone can stop
complaining about it, though I do have a feeling that a lot of people are going
to try to make them a lesbian couple by the time this is all over.

The only good ending I can see to this series is the murder of
Wal-Purd-eh-snatch and then the double suicides of Homura and Madoka. As long
as a single magical girl lives then the cycle will continue. Then again as long
as Kyuubey lives the cycle will continue, but he's practically immortal. How do
you solve that?
