This is yet another one of nature's Wonders. The way that light and vapour react to each other to give us such a charming picture. And to have to be in the right place to see it as well, what with the fact that a rainbow can only be seen from one side.

I'm quite amazed by how many ppl most have never seen a rainbow if they think this is an excellent example of one....

A perfect capture of a harmonious colour made by mother nature!

Not wishing to be contentious but it looks like a toxic waste dump in Maryland. I stayed in an hotel there once.

Reminds me of one of Odilon Redon's pastels

Stephen Fry Have you seen completely circular rainbows from an airplane? I have. I like the way the extremely long shadows are being cast by the clouds on the right, dark columns that appear to connect earth to sky.

Crikey, that's gorgeous! What's the weird brown thing though? It looks like its come to strangle your rainbow!!!!

posted by Lucy Taylor 25 Mar 2009 14:20

It's beautiful...looks like the rainbow is forming a sphere to keep the clouds in!

posted by Helen Richards 25 Mar 2009 14:04

If I squint hard enough, I can just about make out a thin line behind the brown mist (or what could be a greasy thumb print on your mobile camera lens:-). Surely you can do better than this

Stephen Fry Your rainbow photo looks like an unfinished Maxfield Parrish. GORGEOUS!
