Lynn writes her message to the president while sitting in front of her bead shop, which is going out of business. I thought I'd see more depressed conditions such as these, considering so many people are concerned about employment and the economy. Instead, while hiking on Rt 1 that afternoon and the next morning, I came upon two new businesses preparing for weekend grand openings - one a pet grooming spot, the other an interior design boutique.
