#StrikeWitches S2 ep6: this felt like an homage to great mecha eps I'd seen before. #anime 

There was so much stuff I enjoyed about this episode that I may have trouble covering it all in a short format.

The moment I saw that titanic Neuroi, I immediately thought of super robot and pseudo super robot shows where everyone had to come together to bring down and impregnable or unreachable opponent. The booster rocket made of Strike Witches was a bit surreal to say the least.

Eila was always my least favorite witch. Mostly because of her rude, selfish attitude in general. Plus I never believed she had much of any real power, but I have to eat my words this episode. She really, really came through. Still don't like her, but that's besides the point.

And finally, some stuff in this show just doesn't make sense. OK, OK, more like everything, but some stuff stood out to me, like the need to wear coats and for air, but still no need for pants. I don't know why the military even tries with these Neuroi, it's not like they've ever made a difference. And finally the censors they're using for this episode. The fog was bad enough, but the beams of moonlight were pretty blatant and jarring on the eyes. There was A HORIZONTAL beam of moonlight covering their boobs in the night scene! Oh come on! Am I expected to believe that is natural? Like hell! They could've at least been a little creative or subtle. Oh well. I'll still buy the DVD. Great episode Strike Witches! Great episode.
