Well, ...I'm going to do my best not to mention that other show & focus on this one's own merits. First of all, Kaine really reminds me of that bully from Hajime no Ippo. That makes it a little hard for me to take him seriously. But I guess he's hot-blooded enough for combat.

The next thing is that security is so lax that it's laughable. I know the Federation is hard up for manpower, but they had guns. You don't know those kids from paint. Shoot them! They could've taken those mobile su--- I mean METAL ARMORS and melted your faces right off.

It all lead up to a rather entertaining battle, at least. Red Ace guy (I never caught his name) showed terrible judgement, performing one of the classic mistakes in war: glory seeking. I know the kids showed horrible judgement themselves, but Red Ace had a perfect opportunity to snuff these brats out with some planning. It turned out those METAL ARMORS (it doesn't roll off my tongue easily) are more powerful, and the kids are more skilled than the Empire could have imagined. They wiped that ship out with extreme ruthlessness.

This show may be growing on me. I want more.
